It is nostalgic looking at my slides and photos of travels. While running from one place to another, art shows, teaching, life, there seemed “no time” to delve into these images. Most I was able to view for the first time.
When I understood that I could scan and preserve slides digitally and adjust them in ways that enhanced the image (exposures, cropping, color, etc.) it became a fascinating treasure hunt. I attempted with many of these images to replicate my hands-on polaroid print transfers plus watercolor that I had done years ago. The type of film I used “back then” went out of production many years ago. Maybe there is something replacing it now, but finding that I could come close to that work and even enhance it is delightful.
These are reminiscences of both places and photographic fine art processes. With this treasure I am moving into an expanding future with photography.
